Moving day

Today the Walton’s are in a frazzled state as we frantically pull together loose ends and prepare to leave our home of 16 years. So instead of a normal post here’s a poem for your amusement from a favorite author:

Hope is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I’ve heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.

[Emily Dickinson]

and take note, the title of your blog: the Beauty of Potential

According to, the free Webster’s online dictionary , Potential means “Something possessing the capacity for growth or development” With that comes inevitable change. Change that is not guaranteed to look or even feel easy or exciting. In fact, change is sometimes the hardest occurrence in our lives. But without it we would not have new chapters in our journey of life or experience the nervous thrill of stepping onto the path of faith with our Father. So this, this right now, moving from one home to the next. This is something to remember. Sweet memories, filled with love, joy, and laughter. And excitement. Excitement of where the road will take you next!

I leave you with the wise words of kid president:
“If there are two paths, I want to be on the one that leads to awesome”
